Richard Heart beat the SEC in court last year. This week Turkish police detained him in Istanbul and found $7.15M in cash across 15 addresses.

The HEX and PulseChain founder, real name Richard James Schueler, was held with his wife on Oct 14 on an Interpol red notice requested by Finland over alleged aggravated tax fraud. Three people said to be his bodyguards were also detained. Justice Minister Akin Gurlek posted the search list on Oct 17: 6 cold wallets, 300 bags, 28 watches, 97 pieces of jewelry, 4 rifles, 3 unlicensed pistols and 1,400 rounds.

Even if it was all $100 bills, $7.15M is 71,500 notes. At about 1 gram per note, that is roughly 71 kg of paper.

The SEC had sued him in 2023 over more than $1B raised through HEX, PulseChain and PulseX. A federal judge threw the case out in February 2025, citing a lack of ties to the US.

His coins didn't wait for a court. Since the start of Oct 14 UTC, PLS is down about 29% and PLSX about 44%, per CoinGecko.

Founder in custody, coins down 29% to 44%. The minister says the legal process in Turkey is still running.
