What I like most about Covenant is how clean the idea is.
A Covenant is an instruction nobody can read until it fires.
You decide what should happen — sell at a price, buy in an auction, send money at a certain time, protect a position. You lock that instruction to a condition. Then you put it onchain fully encrypted. While it waits, no one can see it. Not bots, not other traders, not even the people running the network. When the condition becomes true, the instruction opens by itself and runs. No extra service needed. No one holding your plan and promising to keep it secret.
This is useful because normal blockchains show everything too early. Your stop loss, your big order, your strategy — all public before they matter. That makes stop hunts easy and big moves harder. Covenants hide the intent until the right moment.
Dusk is the first version of this and it is already live on Ethereum mainnet. Not a testnet. Not a preview. Real mainnet. Anyone can create a Covenant today, run a node, or start building. Managed nodes are also available if you do not want to host yourself.
Dusk is only era one of the full Nillion 7-era roadmap. More updates are planned before the year ends. The first release keeps things simple — conditions based on price or time. Later eras will expand what is possible. I am most looking forward to stop losses that cannot be hunted, sealed bids that stay hidden until the end, and payments that release automatically when the time comes.
Nillion is trying to build markets where the private parts stay private and settlement stays open. That feels like a real step forward.
