My take......
Tokenised stocks are quietly becoming one of the more interesting bridges between TradFi and crypto. Instead of buying a share through a broker, you're holding a blockchain token that tracks the price of a real stock — like Tesla, Apple, or Nvidia — settled on-chain, tradable 24/7, and often fractional down to a tiny dollar amount.
The appeal is obvious: someone in a country with limited access to US brokerages can get price exposure to Apple from their phone, at 2am, with no minimum deposit. That's a genuine unlock for a lot of retail investors outside the US and Europe.
But it's not the same as owning the stock. Most tokenised stock products are synthetic — you own a claim backed by the issuer, not actual shareholder rights (no voting, sometimes no dividends depending on the structure). That means your real exposure is to the issuer's solvency and the platform's custody setup, not just the underlying company. Liquidity can also be thinner than the real market, so spreads widen fast when things get volatile.
