🚨🇺🇸🇮🇷 The Army just admitted the one-missile Patriot era is over after seven months of Iran burning through interceptors faster than Lockheed can build them

The general in charge of buying the Army's missiles laid it out at the service's big annual convention: five separate programs now hunting new interceptors, from a sub-$1 million Patriot round to a Stinger replacement to a second missile for a new launcher the Army built to fire several types and then loaded with only one.

Each program will hold open shoot-offs in 2027 instead of picking a single winner, and the Army just ordered an older Patriot missile for the first time in decades because it's "being produced."

His own words give it away.

The goal was 2,000 new Patriots a year, and now the conversation is "is it 4,000, is it 6,000, is it 8,000."

Here's the plain version.

For years America bet its air defense on one great missile from one company, and that worked fine as long as nobody made you shoot a thousand of them in a month... Then Iran did exactly that.

Every salvo took two or three $4 million Patriots to stop, the Saudis are running short right now, and nobody can build them fast enough.

None of these programs were dreamed up this summer, most were already on paper.

But there's a difference between knowing you should fix something and watching the stockpile counter drop night after night.

The war might not have necessarily invented the fix, but it did abruptly and violently end the debate about whether America could afford to keep putting it off.
