đ„ MSCI officially plans to remove Strategy from its indexes!
â
MSCI is officially planning to drop Michael Saylor's Strategy (MSTR) from its global indexes, starting this Nov 30.
â
MSCI now views companies with a model like Strategy's as non-operating businesses, meaning they focus on holding assets instead of running an actual business. As a result, MSTR no longer qualifies for its indexes.
â
And it's not just MSTR. Metaplanet is on the blacklist too. The final decision list will be announced on Nov 11.
â
Based on an earlier JPMorgan estimate, getting kicked out of MSCI's indexes could expose Strategy to a massive wave of passive selling worth up to $2.8 BILLION from index-tracking funds.
