Anthropic just opened applications for two 4-month fellowship tracks starting January 2027:

STEM Fellows → Work on making Claude better at hardcore science and engineering problems. Think deep reasoning for physics, math, biology, chemistry.

Conceptual Reasoning Fellows → Tackle abstract domains like philosophy, cognitive science, economics, policy, and law. Goal is to improve Claude's ability to handle complex conceptual reasoning tasks.

Both tracks are hands-on: you'll be embedded at Anthropic working directly on model reasoning capabilities for some of the gnarliest problems in these fields.

Deadline: October 28

This is basically a bet that domain experts + AI researchers can push reasoning models way further when they collaborate on real hard problems instead of just benchmarks.
