@WalletConnect Pay is now available through @ezeebit a crypto payment service provider for African businesses. Merchants in South Africa can accept stablecoin and crypto payments in store and online as a familiar payment method, and settle instantly in stablecoin or fiat.
It launches with The Capital ( @TheCapital_SA ), a hotel and apartment group with various locations across South Africa. Customers pay from 700+ wallets in $USDC , $USDT , $ETH or $BNB , and The Capital settles in stablecoin or fiat.
Sub Saharan Africa received over $205B in onchain value between July 2024 and June 2025, up 52% year on year according to @chainalysis . Users in the region already hold stablecoin and crypto. What has been missing is a point of sale that works reliably.

@WalletConnect Pay addresses the specific friction points. The exact payment amount is embedded in the flow, so customers cannot underpay or overpay. Gas is handled in the background. Every wallet follows the same checkout journey. Merchants connect once and support the full range of WalletConnect-compatible wallets.

Customers also get 2x $WCT cashback on purchases during the launch.
#stablecoin adoption grows when paying with it feels like any other payment.
