South Korea's Financial Intelligence Unit said domestic access would be restricted for 27 unregistered overseas crypto service websites after regulatory reviews on October 6-7. This extends earlier app-store restrictions to websites and authorities acknowledged that some affected users could face withdrawal access difficulties.
Korean users who relied on the affected venues may need to move assets or change their trading routes. That can temporarily reduce activity in smaller altcoins, cross exchange arbitrage and derivatives venues linked to those users. The bigger risk is operational: disrupted logins and withdrawals can create anxiety, which sometimes amplifies short term selling in thinner markets. Regulators said withdrawal guidance would be coordinated through the Digital Asset eXchange Alliance.
