The level that held wasn't a clean $80,000. It was a messy pocket of bids between $80k and $81k, and that gap is where most people get shaken out.

If you sold into that dip, you know the feeling. Range lows look like the start of a collapse right up until price is back above them and you're chasing the same $BTC you just dumped.

Buyers stepped in around that $80k to $81k area and pushed price back above the range lows. A range low only stays a low when someone is actually there to absorb the selling. When that bid shows up in a tight zone instead of a dramatic wick through a round number, it usually means the patient money was already waiting, not reacting to a headline.

I watched a similar defense around $30,000 on $BTC in the summer of 2021. The range looked finished, fear did the selling, and the reclaim was underway before most charts had even been updated. $ETH didn't lead that move either. It followed once the range was back intact. The number is bigger this time. The urge to bail at the bottom of a defined range feels exactly the same.
