What does this mean for LUNC's price?
If burns continued at an average of 108.9 million LUNC per day:
Per year: about 39.7 billion LUNC burned.
Supply reduction: roughly 0.6% per year, assuming a supply of about 6.45 trillion and a constant burn rate.
That is meaningful over time, but it is not enough by itself to make LUNC reach $1 or $29. Demand, adoption and sustained reductions in supply would also matter.
My view: The increased burn tax is encouraging, but we need sustained, measurable growth in actual burns—not just a higher tax rate—to judge whether LUNC's outlook is improving.
