The "smooth arc" indicates the opening of new short positions, which restrained the upward movement.
Note the long/short ratio - 23% and the volume of open short positions about 5x of longs

I expect the price to drop to 1.35 and rise sharply to 1.5 somewhere after the close of the NY session.
