Thailand is opening a new door for $BTC and $ETH investors as the country finalizes its crypto ETF framework, with the rules taking effect on October 16, 2026.

The Thai Securities and Exchange Commission announced 11 regulatory notifications on October 8, allowing crypto ETFs to be established and traded on the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Under the new rules, each ETF must track a single cryptocurrency and maintain an average exposure of at least 80% of its net asset value to that asset over each accounting year.

Funds must also use SEC-regulated crypto custodians, while brokers cannot provide margin loans for ETF purchases.

However, October 16 is the framework's effective date, not a confirmed launch date for individual funds, which must still meet the approval requirements.
