October Has 4 Dates That Could Move the Entire Crypto Market. Only One of Them Is a Crypto Event.
Most traders watch charts. This month the calendar matters just as much.
October 14: September CPI lands. August's inflation print came in at 3.4% headline and 2.4% core, so this number will show whether the oil-driven price pressure is cooling or still building.
October 28: the Fed decision. A rate hike is still on the table, and rate-hike odds have already swung several times in the past few weeks.
October 31: the Mt. Gox repayment deadline, with roughly 34,000 BTC still held in wallets after three extensions.
Mid-October: crypto's own catalysts, including the XRP Ledger Batch upgrade (still dependent on validator support) and the Alpenglow consensus upgrade rollout on $SOL.
The backdrop is mixed. Spot BTC ETFs pulled in $2.4 billion in a single week in late September, their best stretch in nearly a year, yet Bitcoin still trades about a third below its October 2025 high of $126K. Last October also broke a six-year streak of positive Octobers, so "Uptober" is no guarantee.
Three of these four dates are macro or legacy events, not crypto-native ones. That shows how much $BTC , $ETH , and $XRP price action now depends on what happens outside crypto.
Which date are you watching most closely: CPI, the Fed, or Mt. Gox? 👇
