🚨 Central banks aren’t slowing down their gold accumulation.
Global central banks added 39 tonnes of gold in August, marking the 5th consecutive month of net purchases.
The trend is clear:
• June: +52 tonnes
• July: +23 tonnes
• August: +39 tonnes
• 2026 YTD: +170 tonnes
🇨🇳 China remains a major buyer, adding another 20 tonnes in August, taking its 2026 purchases to 80 tonnes.
China’s official gold reserves have now reached a record 2,387 tonnes, representing around 9% of its total FX reserves.
🇵🇱 Poland also continues to build its reserves, adding 8 tonnes in August and bringing its 2026 purchases to 98 tonnes. Its total gold reserves now stand at a record 648 tonnes.
The message from central banks is getting harder to ignore:
