.S. House Financial Services Committee Chair French Hill said regulatory efforts to advance digital asset rules lack the long-term stability of legislation passed by Congress. According to Odaily, he wants Congress to pass the CLARITY Act during the lame-duck session before the new Congress takes office in 2027.
The Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission had previously proposed related rulemaking plans. French Hill said the two agencies’ regulatory actions after the U.S. Senate failed to pass the CLARITY Act last month are still not a substitute for legislation.
