Ethereum's next big upgrade, Glamsterdam, went live on the Sepolia test network on Oct 6. It brings 25 changes (EIPs) into public testing, including ePBS and block-level access lists. It is not on mainnet yet.
What this means right now:
⥠More capacity: The plan is a gas limit of up to 200M, up from about 60M.
𧱠Block building: ePBS moves block building away from trusted relays into protocol rules.
