Germany just froze one of its biggest crypto platforms.
Bitcoin.de — with over 1.1 million registered users — has had trading suspended since June 12. Now BaFin has formally refused its MiCA license application, forcing it to build a whole new operating model and restart trading through regulated partners.
The sharp part: this is the EU crypto rulebook working exactly as designed — and more than a million users of one of the oldest crypto platforms in Germany are the ones stuck without a working exchange.
Customer funds are reported safe, just sitting in limbo.
Is this protection for investors, or is MiCA freezing crypto out of Europe?
