JORDAN BELFORT: NEVER “SELL” THE PEN. 💀
Someone says:
“Sell me this pen.”
Most people immediately start talking about the pen.
“This pen is amazing.”
“It writes perfectly.”
“It will last forever.”
“Best value for money.”
Wrong.
Jordan Belfort’s answer?
Start asking questions.
“How long have you been looking for a pen?”
“What are you looking for?”
“Why do you need one?”
Because you can’t effectively sell something until you understand why the other person needs it.
If they tell you:
“Actually, I’m not looking for a pen.”
Then don’t waste your time trying to force one on them.
That’s the real lesson behind “Sell me this pen.”
It was never about the pen.
It was a test of whether you understand sales.
❌ Don’t push the product.
❌ Don’t talk endlessly about features.
❌ Don’t try to force a purchase.
✅ Ask questions.
✅ Find the problem.
✅ Understand the need.
✅ Then present your product as the solution.
The best salespeople don’t convince people to buy things they don’t want.
They discover what people already need — and show them how to get it.
Stop selling. Start asking questions. 🧠
