Solana Foundation has launched “Solana DvP” — an open-source settlement program designed for financial institutions. 🏦
The idea is simple but powerful:
Instead of an asset changing hands first and payment settling later, both sides can settle together in ONE atomic transaction.
⚡ Solana says this can bring settlement finality in seconds instead of days.
And here’s the interesting part:
J.P. Morgan provided input on institutional securities-settlement requirements during the development of the program.
But there’s an important distinction 👇
This does NOT mean J.P. Morgan has adopted or is currently using Solana DvP.
The bigger story is that Solana is positioning its network as infrastructure for tokenized assets and institutional settlement.
The program is released under the MIT open-source license and supports institutional token standards including SPL Token and Token-2022.
