Hyperliquid starts buying back $HYPE with USDC yield đ
Just received the first payment from the AQAv2 framework: ~$14.58 million in USDC.
This is different from the usual buybacks:
âą Not from trading fees, but from USDC reserve yield held on the platform
âą ~90% of the yield (after costs) is routed to the Assistance Fund
âą The fund then buys $HYPE on the open market and burns it
Previously, buybacks relied almost entirely on trading fees (already very aggressive).
Now thereâs a second source that doesnât depend on trading volume.
Estimated extra annual buybacks from AQAv2: $135â160M+.
Total potential yearly buybacks could exceed $900M+.
$HYPEâs deflationary model just got more stable.
