@Zcash announces activation of NU7 on public testnet
#Zcash has activated an upgrade on its public testnet that reduces the target interval between transaction batches from 75 seconds to 25 seconds, ahead of a planned November 5 rollout. #NU7 activated at testnet block 4,465,026, with Zakura and Zebra supporting the upgrade. Miners will receive 40% of fees, while 60% goes to a future rewards reserve. Block rewards fall by two-thirds to keep $ZEC issuance on schedule, and the old Sprout pool is disabled. Developers will decide on mainnet activation on October 20.
