$ETH JUST HAD ITS BEST Q3 EVER — BUT THERE’S A CATCH

Ethereum exploded +70.9% in Q3, marking its strongest Q3 performance on record.

Sounds bullish, right?
But the bigger picture tells a more complicated story. 👇

THE NUMBERS: Q3 Return: +70.9% Q3 Spot ETF Inflows: ~$3.1B ETF Inflows: $1.85B → $892M in Aug → Sep U.S. 10Y Yield: ~5.3%

Here’s the catch. 👀

ETH entered Q3 around $1,570 after getting crushed during H1:

Q1: ~−29%
Q2: ~−25%

So while Q3 delivered a record-breaking recovery, part of that move was simply ETH bouncing back from a deeply depressed base.

Now comes the real Q4 test.

ETF demand has returned — but monthly inflows are already showing signs of slowing.

At the same time, investors can earn around 5.3% from U.S. Treasuries, while ETH staking yields are around 2.6%.

THE BIG QUESTION FOR Q4:

Can fresh demand continue to enter the market after the recovery trade has already happened?

A record Q3 proves ETH can regain momentum.

Q4 needs to prove that the demand behind that momentum is sustainable.

Is ETH entering a new cycle — or simply recovering from a brutal H1?
