🇺🇸🇮🇷 Crude is flowing again. So why is oil still near $100? Here’s the part the headline numbers miss.

Crude exports from Persian Gulf producers excluding Iran have reportedly recovered to roughly 80% of pre-war levels, suggesting the flow of raw oil has rebounded substantially.

But refined products haven’t kept pace.

Exports of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel remain at only around 50% of pre-war levels.

That distinction matters: restoring crude shipments doesn’t automatically restore refinery output, fuel inventories or the supply of products consumers and businesses actually use.

The crude arteries are reopening, but he fuel pipeline is still badly clogged... and that’s where the pressure remains.
