Zcash (ZEC) has entered a period of heightened market activity after a sharp September rally, with the privacy-focused cryptocurrency trading around $1,550-$1,650 on September 27, 2026.

The move has pushed the Zcash price more than 100% higher over the past 30 days, bringing renewed attention to its potential price targets for the remainder of 2026.

Zcash co-founder Eli Ben-Sasson has offered an especially ambitious outlook, predicting that ZEC could reach $5,000 by the end of 2026. His projection comes as whale accumulation, demand for privacy-focused assets, and institutional products have become increasingly important themes around Zcash.

The $5,000 target would represent a substantial increase from current levels and would require ZEC to nearly triple its price within the final months of the year. While the forecast has attracted attention, technical analysts are also monitoring resistance around $1,650-$1,720 and potential support near $1,500-$1,550.

Zcash Co-Founder Sets $5,000 ZEC Target

Ben-Sasson’s forecast places ZEC at $5,000 by the end of 2026. The outlook is based on factors including increased whale activity, growing interest in privacy coins, and what he describes as organic volatility surrounding Zcash.

At around $1,550-$1,650, reaching $5,000 would require a move of roughly 200% from current levels. The target therefore represents a high-growth scenario rather than an extension of the immediate price trend alone.

The broader market backdrop has also changed as Zcash has gained greater exposure through financial products. Grayscale’s Zcash ETF has reportedly surpassed $900 million in assets under management, while Europe’s first Zcash exchange-traded product has added another institutional access point for the asset.

These developments provide additional channels for market participation, although they do not guarantee that ZEC will reach any specific price target.
