🇺🇸 U.S. Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Bill Advances
The U.S. House Financial Services Committee has approved the American Reserve Modernization Act of 2026 in a 28–21 vote, moving the proposal for a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve one step forward.
The bill would establish the reserve under the U.S. Treasury and require Bitcoin placed in it to be held for at least 20 years, with regular disclosures, independent audits and proof-of-reserves requirements. It also allows the Treasury and Commerce Departments to explore budget-neutral ways of acquiring additional Bitcoin.
The bill still needs to clear the full House and Senate before becoming law. But the direction is notable: Bitcoin is increasingly being discussed not just as a traded digital asset, but as a long-term strategic reserve asset at the government level.
