Prediction Markets Might Be Becoming a New Crypto Data Layer
Prediction markets used to feel like simple betting.
But I think something more interesting is happening.
They’re becoming a way to see, in real time, what people think is going to happen next.
We’re seeing more prediction markets, while new tools are also being built to compare odds across different venues.
That’s where it gets interesting.
Traditional markets mostly tell us:
What happened.
Prediction markets ask:
What happens next?
And that information could become useful far beyond elections.
Think:
→ Crypto
→ Macro
→ Regulation
→ Elections
→ Corporate events
The bigger opportunity might not even be the markets themselves.
It could be the layer built around them:
Liquidity + probabilities + aggregation + settlement.
That makes me wonder:
Could prediction markets eventually become a Bloomberg-style information layer for everyday crypto users?
If that happens, I think we’re still very early in this category.
