$BTC options positioning is starting to tell a different story.

During the rally, traders were aggressively paying for upside through calls. But after Bitcoin rolled over, that flow shifted back toward puts.

The interesting part is that this doesn’t look like full-blown panic hedging. One unusually large put trade is heavily influencing the latest move.

The bigger signal is happening on the call side.

Spending on upside exposure has dropped sharply compared with last year’s pace. Traders aren’t necessarily expecting a collapse — they’re simply becoming much less aggressive about chasing higher prices.

That suggests the options market has moved from strong bullish speculation toward protection and caution.

$BTC sentiment is cooling, but fear hasn’t taken control yet.

The next major price move could decide whether traders start buying upside again or protection becomes the dominant trade.
