If confidential smart contracts hide sensitive financial information, thatâs useful. A bank or institution probably doesnât want every wallet watching its positions, agreements, or transaction details.
But blockchain trust usually comes from being able to verify what happened.
So thereâs this strange middle ground.
You donât necessarily need everyone to see the private data, but the network still needs a way to establish that the contract followed its rules and the transaction wasnât manipulated.
I initially thought privacy and transparency were basically opposites.
