đ Everyone's quoting "$BTC open interest at a two-month low."
It depends entirely on which unit you count.
Binance USD-M right now:
đ» 105,531 BTC â lower than 27 of the last 31 days
đș $8.20B â higher than 29 of the last 31 days
Same book. Same moment. Near a low, or near a high.
Price ran +23.6% this week, so contracts and dollars split apart. And it's not a cherry-picked window â 7d, 14d and 30d all say the same thing (card).
â ïž One more thing: Binance's public API serves 31 days, not 60. The two-month comparison can't be reproduced from the exchange's own data. That doesn't make it wrong â it makes it unverifiable. Different things.
Falling contracts on rising price = positions closing. Shorts covering, or longs taking profit. Not the market getting smaller.
