TermMax $TMX #TermMax @TermMaxFi — spent the CreatorPad task poking at the vault mechanics before the Aug 25 TGE, and one number wouldn't leave me alone.
TermMax's own announcement (dropped about a week back) puts TVL north of $90M, 1.5M+ wallets, 90K+ daily actives across ten chains. DefiLlama, tracking the same protocol right now, shows $31.22M — down 7.2% over the last 30 days, with fees sitting at just under $20K for the month. Hold up. Same protocol, wildly different pictures depending on who's counting and what "TVL" even means once vault deposits, idle-parked capital, and cross-chain deployments get mixed into one headline figure.
That's when the actual design clicked for me. Deposits into a TermMax vault don't sit idle waiting for a borrower match — they get auto-routed into Aave or Morpho the second they land, earning base yield until a fixed-term match shows up. Smart, sure. But it also means the "TermMax yield" you see quoted is partly someone else's protocol working in the background. The curator gets the spread either way. The depositor just sees a number.
Which raises the annoying question — when utilization is this uneven across chains, is the fixed-rate promise actually fixed, or just averaged over a lot of borrowed patience?
