Dusk Wallet Repos Call It "Moved." The Issues Say Otherwise.

was mid task going through Dusk's own repo notices instead of the usual docs pages, and one line stopped me: "development moved to the Rusk monorepo." Same sentence sitting on top of two separate repos. wallet-cli archived December 16, 2024. wallet-core archived January 16, 2025. They call it a migration now. From the open issues still sitting inside them, it reads more like an ending.

that's the part I kept circling back to. wallet-core has issues open since 2022, basic stuff, like returning a transaction hash instead of an empty result. Never resolved. Never closed. Just frozen in place the moment the repo went read-only.

what got me was the framing in the archive notice itself. "Moved" implies the work is continuing somewhere, just relocated to better organized ground. But both repos still rank when you search how to actually build a Dusk wallet integration, so anyone following the historically documented path lands on a dead end with someone else's unfinished requests staring back at them, no urgency, no update, just an archive banner.

i don't fully buy the "moved" framing though. A move should carry the open work with it. Instead the 2022 issues stayed exactly where they were, unresolved, while the repo itself got frozen around them.

Still sitting with whether this is ordinary monorepo consolidation that just looks abandoned from outside, or whether wallet tooling specifically stalled long before the archive notice made it official.
