TermMax V2 is live, but the redesign itself isn't what caught my attention.
I spent more time looking at what happens to capital inside the new vault structure.
The TermMax USDC Vault V2 currently shows about $5.8M TVL, with roughly 75.7% invested and 24.3% sitting idle. That idle number matters more to me than a cleaner interface.
The reason is simple: idle capital isn't necessarily dead capital anymore.
V2 is built so unused funds can stay productive while waiting for fixed-rate markets to match. The vault can allocate across different maturities instead of leaving everything tied to one position.
That sounds small, but it changes the opportunity-cost problem I usually think about when depositing.
The interesting question becomes: how efficiently can V2 move between being liquid, earning something while idle, and actually getting deployed into fixed-rate positions?
The current USDC V2 vault has a 24-hour timelock, a $50M cap, and shows around 4.36% APY on the live interface.
So I'm less interested in whether V2 looks better.
I'm watching whether that 24.3% idle portion keeps shrinking without making withdrawals harder.
