Inside Succinct Attestation: Dusk's Answer to Slow Consensus
Most blockchains make you wait. You get a confirmation, then you wait some more just to feel safe. That waiting is called eventual finality, and it's a real problem for banks and financial firms.
Dusk fixes this with something called Succinct Attestation. It's a proof of stake system, but built just for fast, sure settlement. Validators, called provisioners, get picked through a random process based on how much they've staked. They form small voting groups for each block. Those groups check the block and sign off together using combined signatures, which keeps the whole process light and quick.
Here's the big part. Once a block gets attested, it's done. Deterministically final, not just probably final. No reorg risk. No second guessing. That's huge for things like securities settlement, where a trade needs to be locked in for good, right away.
