The Hidden Value of Settlement

Privacy gets most of the attention, but I keep finding myself more interested in what happens after the transaction.

Succinct Attestation is designed to give validators deterministic finality, replacing the usual “wait and see” feeling with a much clearer point of settlement.

That matters in finance.

When an asset changes hands, uncertainty is friction. Knowing exactly when the state is final can make everything built on top of it cleaner and more predictable.

But there’s an important catch:

The stronger the settlement guarantee, the more important the consensus assumptions behind it become.

So maybe the bigger question isn’t just how fast can a transaction settle?

It’s how much trust can we place in the mechanism that declares it settled?
