Last week, I needed $199 USDT quickly for an ETH spot DCA order. I transferred 5.176.587 VND and had proof that the payment was completed. The seller still said the money had not arrived. Both sides reported the transaction as risky and requested an Appeal. The seller was also concerned about my source of funds, so a “successful” screenshot was not enough
That changed how I think about a bank statement. I used to see a three-month statement as paperwork you provide when Binance asks for it. During this Appeal, I realized its value was actually simpler: it preserves context that one screenshot cannot
Binance Support guided both sides to submit bank statements as payment evidence. I selected three months of transaction history in mobile banking and downloaded the original PDF. The file had to be under 200 MB
What surprised me was that the PDF mattered for a reason I had not really considered before. It gave Support a wider record to compare with the P2P order and payment details. A screenshot captures one moment. A statement shows what happened around that moment, which can help separate a payment problem from a misunderstanding
In our case, Binance determined that neither side had violated the rules. The issue was caused by network congestion affecting NAPAS, so the failed payment was not evidence of bad faith
That experience also changed how I view escrow and Appeal. Escrow protects the crypto while the order is active, but evidence becomes important when something unusual happens. Keeping the Order ID and chat history, checking the actual bank balance before releasing crypto, and preserving the original statement help keep the situation verifiable
For a beginner, saving three months of statements may feel excessive when one transfer appears successful. I used to think so too. Now I see the point differently. It is not about collecting paperwork. It is about preserving context before you need it
A screenshot can show that a payment appeared successful. Good evidence helps show what actually happened around it
