The US Senate has postponed its vote on the CLARITY Act, a major crypto market structure bill, until September, extending regulatory uncertainty for digital assets.

The CLARITY Act would define how the SEC and CFTC oversee crypto, but now cannot move forward before the August recess.

The delay stems from ethics disputes around officials’ crypto holdings and a lack of the 60 votes needed to overcome a filibuster.
