Spent an hour this morning cross-checking Babylon's staking dashboard against the price action, because something didn't add up.

$BABY jumped roughly 30% over the past 7 days, bouncing hard off its March low enough that it landed on CoinGecko's trending list. Normal reaction: assume fresh capital is flowing into the protocol. So I went and checked the actual BTC staked figure. It's sitting at ~56,853 BTC (~$5.64B), which is basically where it's been for weeks. No corresponding spike in new deposits, no wave of fresh delegation transactions to finality providers.

That's the part that stood out. The token is moving like new demand is entering the system, but the thing $BABY is supposed to represent locked BTC security isn't moving with it. Feels more like a trading/liquidity event than a staking-adoption event.

I'll admit I can't fully confirm this without pulling raw delegation tx counts over the window myself rather than trusting an aggregate dashboard number, and dashboards like this do occasionally lag or get restated. So take the "flat TVL" read as directional, not gospel.

Still, if the price is repricing faster than the underlying locked BTC is growing, what's actually being priced in future BSN onboarding, or just rotation?
