$ETH Trend Research Whale Officially "Finishes Cutting Losses," Loses $734 Million, But Survives Thanks to Other Altcoin
The nightmare selloff by Trend Research has finally ended. On-chain data confirms this fund has completed liquidating its entire ETH position with a record loss, but fortunately, they haven't gone "bankrupt" due to a diversified portfolio.
🔸 Trend Research went through 2 major trading rounds with Ethereum.
Round 1 Win, Long 231,000 ETH at an entry of $2,667 USD, exit at $4,027 USD -> Profit $315 million USD.
Round 2 Big Loss, Long 651,500 ETH at an entry of $3,180 USD, average exit at $2,053 USD -> Loss $734 million USD.
In total, the fund netted a loss of $419 million USD from its Ethereum play.
🔸 Although the $734 million figure sounds horrific, internal information indicates Trend Research did not lose its principal capital. Massive profits from other tokens like $WLFI and $FORM had previously covered the ETH loss.
In reality, they simply "gave back all the profits" to the market after one trading cycle.
🔸 The fact that Trend Research has finished dumping its holdings is extremely positive news for ETH. The largest selling pressure has been removed. When a "big player" accepts cutting losses and exits, it is often the time when a longterm bottom is established.
Even whales chase peaks and have to cut losses. What's the lesson here: Never "Allin" on one token, always diversify your portfolio like how Trend Research used WLFI to cover the ETH loss?
