Singapore-based digital asset lender Hodlnaut is entering liquidation after collapsing during the crypto winter. The High Court of Singapore ordered the liquidation, with Hodlnaut's interim judicial managers, Aaron Loh Cheng Lee and Ee Meng Yen Angela, being appointed as liquidators. The decision to cease operations was made in August 2022 due to unfavorable market conditions. Hodlnaut's creditors include 17,000 users. In another development, cryptocurrency exchange Poloniex has suffered a security breach, leading to the theft of over $100 million in digital assets. Security firms believe that a "private key compromise" was the likely cause. In response, Poloniex is offering a 5% bounty to the attacker and has stated that affected users will be fully reimbursed. Meanwhile, asset management firm BlackRock has filed with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission for the creation of an Ethereum exchange-traded fund (ETF). The filing was made on behalf of the firm's proposed "iShares Ethereum Trust" and signals BlackRock's intent to expand beyond Bitcoin in the ETF space.
