$ONG Deep Dive: Is This Just Another Small-Cap Pump — or Is There More Behind It?

$ONG is getting interesting, but I don’t think the right question is “How high can it go?”

The better question is: what is actually driving demand for ONG?

ONG is the gas token of the Ontology ecosystem. It is used for transaction fees, smart-contract execution and dApp interactions. ONT, meanwhile, handles governance and staking.

That distinction matters.

The tokenomics also changed significantly.

Ontology reduced ONG’s maximum supply from 1 billion to 800 million, following a community-approved governance proposal. The project also introduced supply-lock mechanisms designed to improve long-term sustainability.

Then there is the demand side.

Ontology reduced its minimum gas price from 2,500 to 500, aiming to make transactions cheaper and lower the barrier for users and developers.

So I’m watching 3 things on $ONG :

1️⃣ Volume: Is buying pressure expanding, or is this only short-term speculation?

2️⃣ Price structure: Can ONG hold higher lows instead of giving back the entire move?

3️⃣ Network activity: Does real ecosystem usage eventually translate into sustainable ONG demand?

That’s the part many traders miss.
