🇯🇵 Japan Rules Out Additional Oil Reserve Release for September & October

Japan will not release additional crude oil from its national reserves in September or October, Economy, Trade and Industry Minister Ryosei Akazawa said on August 25.

📉 September crude procurement is expected to fall to around 80% of last year’s monthly average, mainly because tankers are being rerouted through the longer Suez route due to disruptions around the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

🚢 Japan expects crude procurement to recover toward normal levels in October, while previously released reserves will help maintain domestic supply.
