In 1848, a man named Heinrich Schliemann stood at a crossroads.

He'd just made a fortune trading gold dust in California. Everyone told him to diversify into railroad bonds. Safe. Predictable. Boring.

He bought more gold instead.

Then he used the profits to fund excavations at Troy, which everyone also told him was fictional.

He found Troy.

I think about Heinrich a lot when my cousin Dmitri calls me at 11pm from Tbilisi, whispering "brother, is now the time?" about Bitcoin.

And I tell him what I always tell him.

Dmitri, the question is never really "should I buy BTC."

The question is: can you emotionally survive watching it drop 40% in a Tuesday afternoon while eating leftover soup?

Because it will drop. Probably while you're eating soup.

And then it might do something Heinrich Schliemann would recognize — find something everyone agreed didn't exist anymore.

Or it won't.

Dmitri bought some anyway. He's currently not sleeping great. But he's also not boring at dinner parties.
