Mt. Gox creditors get one more year of waiting.

Rehabilitation trustee Nobuaki Kobayashi announced on October 16 that a Japanese court approved pushing the repayment deadline from October 31, 2026 to October 31, 2027. This is the fourth consecutive extension — the date has slipped every year since 2023.

The stated reason: many creditors are still unpaid, either because they never finished the required procedures or because problems came up while payments were being processed. The Base, Early Lump-Sum and Intermediate repayments are largely done for creditors who filed correctly — more than 19,500 had received BTC and BCH by March 2025.

For markets, the honest read: the October 31 deadline was the date traders circled for a possible creditor-sell wave. That overhang is now parked for 12 more months. Bitcoin sits at $82,483, up 1.6% on the day — the tape is moving on macro, not this.

The trustee said many creditors still haven't completed registration and verification, and some payouts ran into problems during distribution.

Quick recap: In 2014, Mt. Gox was hacked, losing around 850,000 $BTC, and went bankrupt soon after.

Repayment progress:
July 2024: BTC repayments officially began through platforms including Kraken, Bitstamp, BitGo, Bitbank and SBI VC Trade, with more than 90,000 BTC moved out in a single month.
Since 2023: The deadline has now been extended 4 times in a row, all the way from 2023 to 2027.
Now: The estate held about 142,000 BTC before repayments began, and about 34,000 BTC remain in its wallets today.

先说事实：据 Cointelegraph，管理人公告经日本法院批准，偿付截止日从 2026 年 10 月 31 日推迟到 2027 年 10 月 31 日。

这个截止日从 2023 年起，已经每年往后挪一次了。

我的看法：这谈不上利好，只是把一笔潜在卖压往后放了一年。眼下压着 BTC 的是美股科技股抛售和宏观情绪，跟这批币关系不大。

什么情况我会错：BTC 放量站回 8.3 万，说明市场真在给“卖压延后”定价；反过来跌破 8 万，延期这张牌就没人认了。

85 万枚比特币丢在东京，十二年后还有 3.4 万枚没人领。

2014 年 2 月 7 日，Mt.Gox 说系统升级，暂停提币。十七天后，网站一夜之间变成白板。这家平台的名字来自一套卡牌游戏，全称 Magic the Gathering Online Exchange，起家时是给游戏玩家换卡牌的地方。那几天，它手里过着全世界八成的比特币交易。用户发现提不出来的不只是币，连一句解释都没有。

十二年后，交易所的名字只剩一桩法律程序。受托人还在按月给当年的用户发币，3.4 万枚没发完。最新的截止日是 10 月 31 日，两周后。

我的判断是，Mt.Gox 丢的不是一个漏洞，是钥匙、账本、监控录像全归一个人管的这个结构。漏洞年年有，可一家握着全球八成交易的平台，把每一层安全都压在一个不会承认出错的人身上，出事只是早晚。

裂缝在交易可锻性。提币时，攻击者改一下交易编号，系统再查就查不到，同一笔币能申请两次。它的账本按编号记账，改过的编号在系统眼里是另一笔。从 2011 年底起，币就这么一笔笔消失。官方归因于这个漏洞，可漏洞解释不了全部。

最风光的那一秒是 2013 年。全世界八成的比特币从它手里过，注册用户排着队，出入金等几周是常态。那一年它要是把账查明白，故事就是另一个故事。

2014 年 2 月 28 日，它申请破产。

账上躺着 75 万枚客户币，加 10 万枚平台自有，当时值 4.7 亿美元。

后来找回来 20 万。剩下的 65 万枚，链上再没动过。

2015 年 8 月，CEO 卡珀利斯在东京被捕。检方求刑 10 年，指控里有一条，挪用客户资金买了一张 5.4 万美元的四柱床。

2019 年 3 月 15 日，东京地方法院宣判。窜改数据罪成立，两年半，缓刑四年；盗用客户资金，不成立。他到现在都不认。

2024 年 7 月，赔付开始。约 1.95 万人已经拿到了币。
