The U.S. Senate is set to vote on the CLARITY Act, a major crypto market-structure bill that could bring clearer rules to the digital asset industry.
The revised 635-page draft includes stricter ethics rules for government officials involved with digital assets, along with a new stablecoin “circuit breaker” designed to protect community banks from large deposit outflows.
The bill also includes changes to the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act, offering additional protections for crypto developers. However, the legislation still needs 60 votes to move forward, making today’s Senate vote a major test for the future of U.S. crypto regulation.
