I noticed something interesting on $ICP the bounce is real, but price is now pressing directly into the same area where the August recovery previously failed. ICP is around $2.46, up roughly 2.2% in 24H, with a global 24H range of $2.33–$2.46 and about $37.7M in spot volume.
The daily structure has improved from the $2.16–$2.20 area into a higher trading zone, but the chart is still trapped beneath $2.49–$2.50. August already showed how quickly this market can reverse: ICP reached $2.71 on Aug. 22 before collapsing toward $2.34, so I don't want to chase the current candle directly into resistance.
What I like is the recovery from the $2.33–$2.38 support region and the fact that ICP is again testing the upper edge of its recent range. What I don't like is that the current move is happening very close to resistance, while recent daily volume has generally cooled sharply from the huge 6.18M ICP session seen during the Aug. 22 sell-off.
Key levels:
Resistance: $2.49–$2.50
Major resistance: $2.56–$2.71
Support: $2.38
Major support: $2.33
Invalidation: below $2.33
My plan: CONDITIONAL LONG, not a market chase.
I want a clean 4H/1H close above $2.50 with expanding volume, followed by a successful retest of $2.48–$2.50. If that happens, my setup is:
Entry: $2.50–$2.52
SL: $2.42
TP1: $2.60
TP2: $2.70
TP3: $2.85
At a $2.51 entry and $2.42 stop, the risk is about 3.6%. TP1 offers roughly 1.0:1, TP2 about 2.1:1, and TP3 about 3.8:1. TP1 alone isn't attractive enough, so I would only consider the trade if the breakout confirmation is strong enough to target the higher liquidity zones.
If ICP loses $2.38 before reclaiming $2.50, I would cancel the long idea and wait rather than force a trade. The broader narrative remains supportive, including the recent DFINITY–UNDP partnership around AI and cloud systems, but that fundamental story doesn't remove the need for technical confirmation.
Final view: ICP is showing recovery, but $2.50 is the decision point. I would rather miss the first few cents of a confirmed breakout than buy directly underneath resistance.
Will ICP finally reclaim $2.50 with real volume, or does this zone produce another rejection?
