Under a settlement with U.S. states, Meta has agreed to pay between $17 billion and $18 billion over allegations that its platforms contributed to social media addiction among children.
As part of the agreement, Facebook and Instagram will introduce usage limits for underage users, along with additional safety restrictions and protections.
