🟡⚪ Gold & Silver Day-Trading Analysis — Tuesday, August 25, 2026

Focus: XAU/USD & XAG/USD
Strategy: London → New York session crossover
Timeframes: 15M for structure + 5M for entries
Currency: USD/oz
Bias: Bullish, but extended — buy-the-dip is preferable to chasing highs.

Important: These are trading scenarios, not guaranteed signals. Precious metals are currently moving aggressively, so position sizing and confirmation are especially important.

📊 Current Market Snapshot

As of today, gold is trading around $4,690/oz, with today's range roughly $4,651–$4,696. Trading Economics reports gold up about 0.89% today.

Silver is around $69.46–$69.55, with today's range approximately $68.94–$69.91.

🟡 XAU/USD — Gold

Yesterday's gold session established an important bullish structure. Historical data shows Aug. 24 opened around $4,603.6, reached approximately $4,659, and closed around $4,643, while today's price has already pushed toward $4,696.

Gold's larger trend is strongly bullish:

  • Resistance: $4,695–$4,705

  • Next psychological resistance: $4,750

  • Major upside zone: $4,780–$4,800

  • First support: $4,665–$4,675

  • London-session support: $4,640–$4,655

  • Major intraday support: $4,600–$4,620

Gold recently reached a three-month high around $4,680.70, while Treasury-buyback expectations pushed yields lower and helped the precious-metal rally.

🕯️ Gold Candlestick Interpretation

The important pattern today is essentially:

Bullish expansion → shallow retracement → continuation attempt

That means I would not prefer selling simply because gold is near $4,700.

Instead, watch what happens when price returns toward $4,665–$4,675.

A 5-minute bullish engulfing candle, hammer, or strong rejection wick there would provide a much cleaner long setup.

Conversely, a 5M close below $4,640, followed by a failed retest, would warn that today's bullish structure is weakening.

🥈 XAG/USD — Silver

Silver is more volatile than gold and currently sits near the psychologically important $70 area.

Today's data shows:

  • Open: approximately $68.96

  • High: approximately $69.91

  • Low: approximately $68.94

  • Current/close-area price: approximately $69.46

Yesterday silver traded inside a much wider range, approximately $68.29–$69.92, showing considerably more intraday volatility than gold.

Silver levels

Resistance

  • $69.80–$70.00

  • $70.40–$70.60

  • $71.00–$71.30

Support

  • $69.20–$69.35

  • $68.70–$68.90

  • $68.25–$68.40

  • $67.80–$68.00

The $70 level is the key battle zone.

A clean 5M/15M close above $70 followed by a successful retest could create a momentum continuation.

🇬🇧➡️🇺🇸 London–New York Crossover Plan

For a Pakistan-based trader, the important point is to convert the session times to your local clock rather than blindly following broker labels.

The best approach today is:

Step 1 — Mark the London range

Before New York becomes active, mark:

  • London high

  • London low

  • London opening price

  • Previous day's high

  • Previous day's low

  • Asian high/low

These levels become your liquidity map.

Step 2 — Wait for the New York liquidity sweep

Don't immediately enter when New York opens.

Look for:

London high sweep → rejection → short

or

London low sweep → rejection → long

But because today's overall structure is bullish, I would give long setups priority.

🟢 GOLD — Primary Long Setup

Setup A: Buy the dip

Entry zone: $4,665–$4,675

Wait for:

  1. Price retraces into the zone.

  2. 5M candle produces a lower wick.

  3. Next candle closes bullish.

  4. Price breaks the confirmation candle's high.

Example trade

Entry: $4,672
SL: $4,648
TP1: $4,695
TP2: $4,725
TP3: $4,755

Approximate risk:

24 points

Potential reward:

  • TP1 = 23 points

  • TP2 = 53 points

  • TP3 = 83 points

So TP2/TP3 provides approximately 2.2R–3.5R if the setup triggers cleanly.

🚀 GOLD — Breakout Setup

If gold doesn't retrace and instead consolidates underneath $4,695:

Wait for a 5M candle close above $4,700.

Then wait for the retest.

Potential plan

Buy: $4,700–$4,705 after successful retest
SL: $4,682
TP1: $4,725
TP2: $4,750
TP3: $4,780

Do NOT buy the first spike above $4,700.

The ideal pattern is:

Break → pullback → hold → continuation.

🔴 GOLD — Short Setup

I would only become interested in shorts if the bullish structure fails.

Watch:

$4,640

If price produces:

5M close below $4,640 → retest $4,640–$4,650 → bearish rejection

then a short becomes interesting.

Possible structure:

Entry: $4,642–$4,648
SL: $4,665
TP1: $4,620
TP2: $4,600
TP3: $4,575

This is a reversal trade, so it has lower priority than the long setup.

🟢 SILVER — Primary Long

Silver's key area is $69.20–$69.35.

If New York drives silver lower into this zone and sellers fail to continue:

Long confirmation

Look for:

  • liquidity sweep

  • long lower wick

  • bullish engulfing

  • break of 5M swing high

Potential plan:

Entry: $69.30
SL: $68.85
TP1: $69.80
TP2: $70.20
TP3: $70.70

Silver can move rapidly, so don't use the same position size you would use on gold.

🚀 SILVER — $70 Breakout

This is potentially the most interesting momentum setup.

If New York establishes a 5M close above $70.00, don't chase immediately.

Wait for:

$70 breakout → retest $69.80–$70.00 → bullish rejection

Potential:

Entry: $70.00
SL: $69.55
TP1: $70.40
TP2: $70.80
TP3: $71.20

A failed breakout is equally important.

If silver spikes above $70 and immediately closes back below it, that can become a bull-trap short.

🔴 SILVER — Bearish Reversal

If the New York session sweeps $70 but produces a strong rejection and then breaks $69.20, watch for:

Entry: $69.15–$69.25
SL: $69.65
TP1: $68.70
TP2: $68.30
TP3: $67.90

Again, this is lower priority while the broader momentum remains positive.

🌎 Why Metals Are Strong Today

There are several macro forces behind the move.

Treasury plans for additional long-duration bond buybacks have pushed Treasury yields lower, while concerns about U.S. fiscal sustainability and dollar debasement have supported precious metals.

Gold has now been on a powerful run, with Comex gold settling at $4,640.80 Monday, its fourth consecutive higher session.

Silver, however, remains much more volatile. Monday's Comex silver settlement was approximately $68.54, down 1.33%, demonstrating why silver can produce much larger intraday swings.

The macro backdrop also includes geopolitical tension and uncertainty around U.S. monetary policy.

⚠️ The Biggest Risk Today

The biggest danger is chasing a vertical candle.

Gold has already moved dramatically from the ~$4,600 area toward $4,700.

So instead of:

🚨 BUY $4,695 because price is going up!

I'd rather see:

Pullback → liquidity sweep → rejection → confirmation → entry.

That's much more appropriate for a 5M/15M day-trading strategy.

📅 Important This Week

Today isn't occurring in isolation.

The market is preparing for major U.S. events later this week, including PCE inflation data and Fed Chair Kevin Warsh's Jackson Hole speech Friday.

That means today's London–New York session could establish liquidity levels that become important later in the week.

🔥 Bottom Line

XAU/USD: 🟢 Bullish above $4,640–$4,655

XAG/USD: 🟢 Bullish above $69.20; major breakout trigger near $70

Gold preferred setup: Buy a confirmed pullback around $4,665–$4,675

Silver preferred setup: Buy a confirmed $70 breakout/retest

Avoid: chasing large green candles, entering directly into resistance, or trading without a 5M confirmation.
