Bitcoin has surged toward $70,500, with the move coming as markets focus heavily on today’s White House crypto meeting.
The meeting is expected to bring together major crypto and financial-industry executives alongside U.S. regulators, with discussions centered on digital-asset policy and the path forward for the CLARITY Act.
At first glance, this looks extremely bullish for $BTC . But I’m not convinced this rally should be chased.
My view is that the market may be front-running the headlines. Traders are buying ahead of the meeting, expecting positive statements and regulatory clarity. If the actual announcements fail to meet those expectations—or if the CLARITY Act discussion reveals more delays or disagreements—the market could quickly reverse.
The important point is that the CLARITY Act is not yet a done deal. The Senate is currently looking toward a September 15 procedural vote, meaning there is still plenty of uncertainty surrounding the legislation.
That creates a classic “buy the rumor, sell the news” setup.
If the meeting produces genuinely positive developments, Bitcoin could continue higher. But if expectations are too high and the statements disappoint, today’s rally could become liquidity for another downside move.
So personally, I would not chase $BTC at $70,500.
I’d rather wait for the meeting, watch the reaction, and see whether Bitcoin can actually hold the breakout after the headlines hit.
