Israel's largest licensed cryptocurrency exchange, Bits of Gold, experienced a data breach, with personal data of approximately 200,000 customers stolen by hackers, nearly equivalent to the platform's entire user base. Bits of Gold is Israel's first cryptocurrency company to receive a Virtual Asset Service Provider license, approved by regulators in September 2022.The specific type of data leaked has not been disclosed yet, but cryptocurrency brokers typically collect a large amount of identity information in accordance with KYC regulations, including government-issued identification, proof of address, and financial information.
