Binance Announces Asset Migration from Funding Accounts to Spot Accounts
Binance has officially announced a structural update to simplify its account architecture. Starting September 29, 2026, Binance will begin migrating users' crypto assets from their Funding Accounts directly to their Spot Accounts.
Key Highlights:
Account Restructuring: The migration aims to streamline fund management. Following the transition, the Funding Account will be renamed the Stocks Account, dedicated exclusively to trading stocks and stock options.
On-Chain Deposits: Beginning September 29, on-chain crypto deposits to Funding Accounts will be disabled, requiring all crypto transactions to process through the Spot Account.
Migration Options: Users can manually transfer their assets using a "One-Click Migration" feature in the app. Any remaining un-migrated crypto assets will be automatically moved to Spot Accounts by Binance starting January 2027.
Asset Safety: Binance confirmed that total asset balances and security will remain entirely unaffected by this update.
